The SIP 5k Run will take place at the Prater Hauptallee, a highly popular, one may say legendary running track in Vienna. This 4.5 km long alley stretches from the busy Praterstern, next to the Wurstlprater amusement park (with the Ferris Wheel, one of Vienna’s landmarks), to the Lusthaus in the middle of an old broad-leaved forest. It is part of the track of the Vienna City Marthon. And runners may also know Prater Hauptallee as the site of the (unofficial) Marathon world record by Eliud Kipchoge, who ran the 42.195 km in 01:59:40 hrs in October 2019. The Prater is a riparian forest in the old inundation area of the Danube River before its regulation and used to be imperial hunting grounds. Emperor Joseph II opened the Prater to the public in 1766. Ever since then, the woods, the meadows and the alley have been among the favorite places of the Viennese people for recreation and sports.
We will meet on July 30 early morning at 6:30 h in the Prater Hauptallee next to the Planetarium
[Check on Google Maps]. We will run 2.5 km into the forested parts of the Prater near Ernst Happel Football Stadium and return to the start. You may run on the paved main track of the alley as well as the unpaved sidetracks. There is no motorized traffic on the Hauptallee but there will be runners, walkers, inline skaters, bicyclists, etc. Hence, all runners must obey to the rules of the road.
The meeting point is just about 300 m from the Praterstern, a central traffic hub that can be reached by underground lines U1 and U2, trains of the S-Bahn (S1, S2, S3, S4, and S7), tram lines O and 5, and several bus lines.

The hotel is located at the entrance to Vienna's vibrant Neubau district. The grand building, featuring distinctive glass corner windows, evokes the shape of ships docked at the Danube marina. The hotel offers easy access to the Stadthalle event center, the Mariahilfer Straße shopping mile is just around the corner, and the city center is a mere ten-minute walk away. The hotel is well-connected with various means of transportation and provides suitable facilities for the event.
